"E Ticket Ride..." I've heard that
expression before, but I'm not sure what it means???
In 1956 Walt Disney opened Disneyland in Anihiem
California to be the 1st, safe and well maintained
family asusment park in the world. To see and or ride the differnt attections
at Disneyland one used tickets.
The tickets were designated A, B, C, D and E Tickets, as a higher letter
denoted a generaly more exciting
ride. The E Tickets were saved for the most exciting rides such as the; Pirates
of the Carribean, the
Haunted Mansion, the Mattererhorn Bobsleds and Space Mountain! In 1982 the
individual ticket system
was abandoned for the one price, general admission, Disneyland Passport.
An actual E Ticket
However, even almost 30 years after their retirement,
the phrase "That's and E Ticket ride!" is
comonnly used to describe
any exciting, action packed ride!
Ok, so why name your website after the
phrase???
Well, aside from the warm childhood memories of
using up my E Tickets at Disneyland, riding motorcycles
and sailing have become our current E Ticket Rides due to the limitless thrills they offer
and thus is the underlying
theme to the site.
